Kindertheater Platypus: EXPEDITION 3.71

Expedition 3.71 is about two young people who spend a summer night stargazing. They share what they know about the universe and the various Mars projects which are presently in progress. As well as this they pose existential questions and slip into the roles of astronauts on their way to Mars. The play deals with human curiosity, the urge to explore and the strong desire to go beyond scientific and technical borders. It's also about what human beings are prepared to give up in order to make a dream come true or to reach a goal. To what extent are people manipulated by organisations like Mars One and to what extent do people allow themselves to be manipulated. Carl Gustav Jung said "To go on a journey in outer space is merely to flee from oneself. It is easier to fly to Mars or the moon than it is penetrate the inner self."
